Eclectic Alayna's Blog Has MOVED!

Just A Knittin'

It's still a baby with only a couple of posts and a lot more work needed. But, with enough love and care from me and all you readers out there, it'll be a great and happy blog.

Also, the subject is mainly knitting now. Later on, I will be creating another blog about me in general, but that'll be a while so don't be waiting on it and chewing your nails.

Well, for the last time:

Enjoy!

Oh My, It's Been A While!

I am sooo sorry!
Geez! I was without Internet for *gasp* 2 and 1/2 weeks! We had to order a new service because the one we had kept not working for days at a time, then it just altogether STOPPED! But now we have a more reliable service. And it's soo much faster. We got it Dec. 24th, yes, Christmas Eve. I was so happy because I had just received my invitation to Ravelry.com (yipee!) and almost completely forgot about my baby here...my blog.

Well, now I'm back and having good ole time.

I got some great gifts for Christmas:
A new messenger bag (can't remember what brand it is, but it's leather. Yee!)
A fleece bedsheet set (for when my honey is gone for weeks)
Fleece pajamas (for the same reason as above...D is so sweet!)
A yoga mat
A pilates DVD and booklet
A blender (finally, I can make my famous smoothies...ok, they aren't famous, but they're great!)
A standing, living room lamp (we can see!)
$50 from my Nana
And many other little tricket-type things.

I was amazed that I didn't get any yarn or knitting items, but I guess it's a good thing. I've got too much as it is.

I got D a bunch of stuff:
A new fishing pole
A new tackle box
Some lures and hooks
A flanel shirt
A thermal shirt
2 t-shirts
A travel poker set
A gadget holder
And a camo belt with all these crazy add-ons.

He loves it all! Yay!

So, I mentioned Ravelry. I love it. I found a lot of groups on there that are based in my own town. I've joined a knitting group on Friday mornings. And there are sooo many awesome patterns and gadgets on there. I'm actually going to get an idea of all the yarn I have because of their "stash" feature. If you don't already have an account and you knit, get an invitation and have fun. Seriously! You'll love it. If you do have an account, add me to your friends: Me on Ravelry.

Oh, and I finished one sock for my buddy's wife. I'm more than half way done with the second one. Sorry, no pictures yet. There will be though, don't worry. And I finished the baby blanket, but I haven't been able to give it to S.B. yet. Derned it all!

Well, I'm back! Woohoo!

Enjoy!

Some News, Good and Bad

Some news:

I'm a quarter of the way done with the baby blanket for S.B.'s coming baby, which, by the way, is coming into this world December 23rd by c-section. (S.B. is the lady who boards my sister's horse.)

Speaking of my sister's horse: she is a thoroughbred, 23-year-old, ex-race horse named Life's Precious. And last night was terrible...6 hours of terrible. Around 3:30pm PST, I was on the phone with D when he got a call from S.B. Some girls that work on the horse ranch called S.B. because they saw that Precious's leg was swollen and moved her into a stall. Their thought was that her leg was broken. After D heard that, he got back on the phone with me, told me, and I called mom. And she called my sister. And my sister called a few other people to confirm then called me for a ride. We spent about 4 hours with Precious and the vet. X-rays were taken and it was determined that her sesamoid bone was broken meaning that the tendons weren't attached. She's probably going to be put down, but I still don't know for sure...My sister was heartbroken. Precious is such a stubborn old girl, but you can't help but love her. You really can't. Anyway, that's the bad news of the day. I'd put a picture of Precious on here, but I can't find any that I've taken :(

Other news: I'll be finding out today if D is coming home this Friday or on Dec. 23. He'll be calling me tonight to let me know when to expect him. I would love to have him home at the end of this week, but we need the money so he should stay out. But it's up to NorthTree Fire International (NTFI).

Well, back to knitting and cleaning. Yay...
